Our Mission

Claire's Reading Program's sole mission is to encourage children of all ages to learn, and practice new prospects of reading and writing by giving them the buddies that love them unconditionally, and the environments in which they can enjoy.

The ultimate goals are to create and uphold the reading opportunities that our current generation and future generations truly deserve; to be a part of something great, something amazing, created solely by the youth as they make a difference with themselves, and those around them!

Through consistent participation, Claire's Reading Program aims to help students of all walks of life to become the best readers they can be, while teaching them the responsibilities of every day life as they commit to the values and friendships they make, sharing their wonderful kindness and compassion to shelter animals, and ultimately, our wonderful community.

Dolly Parton Imagination Library

The Dolly Parton Imagination Library is a non-profit organization founded by the legendary country singer Dolly Parton.

It aims to foster a love for reading among preschool children by providing them with free, high-quality books from birth to age five.

Each month, enrolled children receive a carefully selected book tailored to their age group, delivered directly to their homes. Through this initiative, Dolly Parton Imagination Library not only promotes literacy but also strengthens the bond between parents and children through the joy of reading together. With a focus on early childhood development, this program empowers children to dream big and explore the wonders of the world through the pages of a book.

Second Chance Pet Rescue

Loving Homes, for Loving Pets

Second Chance Pet Rescue is a no-kill shelter. Our focus is to help the pets in need in our community, but we know no borders when it comes to helping pets without homes.

We are not an animal control facility; our shelter does not accept found or stray pets unless there are special circumstances. We are a rescue; that means that we accept pets that are owned and no longer able to be cared for or those who have been abandoned and left behind. We also accept pets from other shelters and organizations when our help is requested.

Our goal is to become an open-admission no-kill shelter. Open admission means that we would never need to turn away a pet that comes to our door. Currently, we are always asked to help more pets than we physically have the space to house in our shelter facility.

Once an animal is accepted, we commit to keeping the pet until a home is found. Our promise to every pet that comes through the door; they remain safe with us until a forever home can be found. That promise comes with a hefty price tag; Second Chance Pet Rescue operates solely on donations.
